[simple present] kebiasaan; kebenaran umum; perulangan

Pola     :  (+)  S + V₁      (−)  S + do/does + not + V₁

Ex        :  Azai goes to the market once a week “azai pergi ke pasar seminggu sekali”

[present continuous] sedang berlangsung/dilakukan

Pola     :  (+)  S + be (is/am/are) +  V_−ing      (−)  S + be (is/am/are) + not +V_−ing

Ex        :  Kiel is talking to doong doong “kiel sedang bicara pada doong doong”

[present perfect] telah terjadi

Pola     :  (+)  has/have +  V₃      (−)  S + has/have + not +V₃

Ex        :  we have moved into the new house “kami telah pindah ke rumah baru”

[present perfect continuous] telah terjadi dan masih berlangsung

Pola     :  (+)  S + be (is/am/are) +  V_−ing      (−)  S + be (is/am/are) + not +V_−ing

Ex        :  Reza has been waiting for you all week “reza telah menunggumu sepanjang minggu”

[simple past] sudah berakhir; sudah terjadi

Pola     :  (+)  S +  V₂      (−)  S + did + not + V₁

_­‑Ex       :  Anto bought a new shirt last week “anto membeli baju baru minggu lalu”

[past continuous] berlangsung di masa lampau

Pola     :  (+)  S + be (was/were) +  V_-ing      (−)  S + be (was/were) + not + V_-ing

Ex        :  We were having dinner last night “kami mengadakan jamuan makan tadi malam”

[past perfect] telah terjadi di masa lampau

Pola     :  (+)  S + had +  V₃      (−)  S + had + not + V₃

Ex        :  She had left an hour ago “ia telah pergi sejam yang lalu”

[past perfect continuous] telah terjadi dan masih berlangsung di masa lampau ; ada durasi

Pola     :  (+)  S + had + been +  V_-ing      (−)  S + had + not + been + V_-ing

Ex        :  They had been standing there “mereka sudah berdiri di sana”

[simple future] akan dilakukan; rencana; janji

Pola    

Spontan  :  (+)  S + will/shall +  V₁      (−)  S + will/shall + not + V₁

Ex            :  We will go to the park tomorrow “kami akan pergi ke taman besok”

Rencana :  (+)  S + be (is/am/are) + going to +  V₁      (−)  S + be (is/am/are) + not + going to +  V₁ 

Ex           :  We are going to the park tomorrow “kami berencana pergi ketaman besok”

[future continuous] akan sedang berlangsung di masa yang akan datang

Pola     :  (+)  S + will + be +  V_-ing      (−)  S + will + not + be + V_-ing

Ex        :  Anis will be singing at the concert to night “anis akan bernyanyi di konser malam ini”

[future perfect] akan sudah atau belum terjadi masa yang akan datang

Pola     :  (+)  S + will + have +  V₃      (−)  S + will + not + have + V₃

Ex        :  They will have finished the homework before lunch “mereka akan telah menyelesaikan pekerjaan rumah sebelum makan siang”

[future perfect continuous] telah akan terjadi dan berlangsung di masa yang akan datang; ada durasi

Pola     :  (+)  S + will + have + been +  V_-ing      (−)  S + will + not + have + been + V_-ing

Ex        :  Mela will have been studying in germany for five years next mounth “mela akan telah belajar di jerman selama 5 tahun bulan depan”
